मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने महान क्रांतिकारी श्री देव सुमन की पुण्य तिथि पर उनका स्मरण करते हुए कहा कि लोग श्रीदेव सुमन के जीवन एवं कार्यों पर आधारित इस फिल्म के माध्यम से श्रीदेव सुमन जी को अनुभव करेंगे। इस फिल्म के निर्माण के लिए कार्य कर रहे सभी कलाकारों की इसमें भूमिका अहम होगी। श्रीदेव सुमन जी द्वारा समाज के लिए दिया गया योगदान हम सभी को प्रेरणा देता रहेगा। उन्होंने हमेशा अन्याय के विरुद्ध आवाज उठाई और तानाशाही के खिलाफ जन-आंदोलन चलाए। अनेक अमानवीय यातनाओं को झेला लेकिन सच्चाई के मार्ग से विचलित नहीं हुए। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि श्रीदेव सुमन केवल एक जननायक ही नहीं थे, बल्कि उनके भीतर एक अटल देशभक्ति थी। वे एक क्रांतिकारी, बुद्धिजीवी, रचनाकार, पत्रकार एवं दूरदृष्टि की सोच रखने वाले महापुरुष थे।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि जब भारत में अंग्रेजों के विरुद्ध आंदोलन चल रहा था तभी एक आंदोलन टिहरी प्रजामण्डल के द्वारा चलाया जा रहा था, जिसका नेतृत्व श्रीदेव सुमन कर रहे थे। इस लड़ाई को लड़ते-लड़ते उन्होंने कई बार शांतिपूर्ण तरीके से आंदोलन किए, बहुत प्रताड़ना सहनी पड़ी, कई बार आमरण अनशन भी किया। उन्होंने भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन में बढ़-चढ़ कर भाग लिया और वर्षाें तक जेल में रहे, जेल में उनके ऊपर अनेक अमानवीय अत्याचार हुए। इसके बावजूद भी सुमन जी का संघर्ष जारी रहा उन्होंने 3 मई 1944 को अपना ऐतिहासिक अनशन शुरू किया और 25 जुलाई 1944 के शाम को उन्होंने प्राणोत्सर्ग कर दिया। सुमन जी की शहादत स्वाधीनता सेनानियों के लिए प्रेरणा स्रोत बन गई। मातृभूमि के लिए स्वयं को आहूत कर श्रीदेव सुमन जी ने पूरे राष्ट्र में क्रांति की अलख जगा दी। सुमन जी के विचार जितने उस वक्त प्रासांगिक थे, उतने ही आज भी हैं। वे सदैव एक प्रेरणापुंज की तरह हमारे हृदय में जीवित रहेंगे।
मुख्यमंत्री ने इस अवसर पर प्रवासी उत्तराखण्ड वासियों को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि उत्तराखण्ड का नैसर्गिक सौंदर्य फिल्मकारों को देवभूमि उत्तराखण्ड के लिए आकर्षण का केन्द्र बना है। राज्य में फिल्मांकन के लिए क्षेत्रीय फिल्मों को विशेष प्रोत्साहन दिया जा रहा है। प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी जी के मार्गदर्शन में केदारपुरी का भव्य पुनर्निर्माण का कार्य हो रहा है। बद्रीनाथ में भी मास्टर प्लान के तहत तेजी से कार्य हो रहे हैं। चारधाम यात्रा में श्रद्धालुओं की संख्या में हर साल वृद्धि हो रही है। कांवड़ यात्रा में भी इस वर्ष चार करोड़ से अधिक शिवभक्त देवभूमि उत्तराखण्ड आये और सकुशल कांवड़ यात्रा सम्पन्न हुई।
