मुख्य सचिव डॉ. एस.एस. संधु ने गुरुवार को सचिवालय में देवप्रयाग और ऋषिकेश के मध्य पौड़ी क्षेत्र से कनेक्टिविटी बढ़ाए जाने के सम्बन्ध में लोक निर्माण विभाग के अधिकारियों और जिलाधिकारी पौड़ी के साथ बैठक आयोजित की।
मुख्य सचिव ने कहा कि कनेक्टिविटी को बढ़ाकर इस क्षेत्र में पलायन को रोका जा सकता है, साथ ही, कनेक्टिविटी बढ़ने से इन क्षेत्रों का विकास हो सकेगा और रोजगार के अवसर भी बढ़ेंगे। उन्होंने जिलाधिकारी पौड़ी से देवप्रयाग से ऋषिकेश के मध्य ऐसे क्षेत्रों को चिन्हित करने के निर्देश दिए जहां मोटर पुल बनाकर अधिक से अधिक जनसंख्या को लाभान्वित किया जा सकता है या ऋषिकेश – देहरादून से कनेक्टिविटी बढ़ाई जा सकती है।
मुख्य सचिव ने लोक निर्माण विभाग को भी निर्देश दिए कि इस सम्बन्ध में अपने स्तर पर भी प्रस्ताव तैयार किए जाएं। उन्होंने कहा कि जिन क्षेत्रों में पहले से झूला पुल हैं इन्हें विकसित कर मोटर पुल बनाकर अपग्रेड भी किया जा सकता है। इसके लिए संभावनाएं तलाशी जाएं।
इस अवसर पर प्रमुख सचिव आर. के. सुधांशु एवं वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से जिलाधिकारी पौड़ी आशीष चौहान उपस्थित थे।
