मुख्यमंत्री  पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने कहा कि उत्तराखण्ड भूकम्प एवं आपदा की दृष्टि से संवेदनशील राज्य है। आपदा प्रबंधन एवं भूकम्परोधी तकनीक के क्षेत्र में जापान राज्य को क्या सहयोग दे सकता है, इस दिशा में प्रयास किये जाएं। उन्होंने कहा कि उत्तराखण्ड में डिजास्टर मैनेजमेंट इंस्टीट्यूट के लिए जापान से सहयोग लिया जाए। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि उत्तराखण्ड में पर्यटन, कृषि, हॉर्टीकल्चर के क्षेत्र में अनेक संभावनाएं हैं। इनको बढ़ावा देने के लिए राज्य सरकार द्वारा लगातार प्रयास भी किये जा रहे हैं।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि उत्तराखण्ड के स्थानीय उत्पादों की वैल्यू एडिशन कर मार्केटिंग में जापान से किस प्रकार सहयोग लिया जा सकता है, इस ओर ध्यान दिया जाए। उन्होंने कहा कि उत्तराखण्ड के स्थानीय कल्चर एवं सांस्कृतिक विरासत से संबंधित जानकारी एवं अन्य अध्ययन के लिए जापान से कोई भी प्रतिनिधिमंडल उत्तराखण्ड आना चाहते हैं, तो उनका देवभूमि उत्तराखण्ड में स्वागत है। राज्य द्वारा इसके लिए हर संभव सहयोग दिया जायेगा। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि उत्तराखण्ड योग, आयुष, वैलनेस टूररिज्म के क्षेत्र में अग्रणी राज्य है। इन क्षेत्रों में जापान को जो भी सहयोग की आवश्यकता होगी, वह दी जायेगी।
