ट्रंप ने Google और Meta जैसी दिग्गज टेक कंपनियों को साफ कहा है कि उन्हें अपने AI और उनके डेटा सेंटर्स का बिजली बिल खुद भरना होगा। इसके लिए कंपनियों से सार्वजनिक रूप से वादा कराया जा रहा है। ट्रंप प्रशासन का मानना है कि इससे कंपनियों की जिम्मेदारी बढ़ेगी। ट्रंप सरकार के साथ-साथ अमेरिका के कई राज्यों ने भी डेटा सेंटर्स को लेकर सख्त नियम जारी किए हैं।

अपना खर्चा खुद उठाओ’, ऐसा ट्रंप प्रशासन ने गूगल और मेटा जैसी कंपनियों से साफ कह दिया है। दरअसल AI की बढ़ती होड़ ने बिजली की मांग को अलग ही स्तर पर पहुंचा दिया है। AI की इस बढ़ती मांग को पूरा करने के लिए गूगल, माइक्रोसॉफ्ट और अमेजन जैसी कंपनिया बड़े-बड़े डेटा सेंटर्स बना रही हैं। इससे बिजली की बढ़ती खपत को देखते हुए डोनाल्ड ट्रंप ने साफ कर दिया है कि एआई और डेटा सेंटर्स द्वारा इस्तेमाल की जा रही बिजली का बोझ टेक कंपनियां खुद उठाएं। ट्रंप प्रशासन ने टेक कंपनियों से वादा करने को कहा है कि एआई के विकास को बोझ वे अमेरिकी नागरिकों की जेब पर नहीं डालेंगे।

ट्रंप प्रशासन का टेक दिग्गजों पर दबाव

ट्रंप सरकार गूगल, माइक्रोसॉफ्ट, मेटा और अमेजन जैसी कंपनियों पर एक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर करने का दबाव बना रही है। इसके अनुसार कंपनियों को उनके AI और डेटा सेंटर के बिजली के खर्चों को खुद ही उठाना होगा। ट्रंप का कहना है कि अमेरिका की उन्नति के लिए डेटा सेंटर्स जरूरी हैं लेकिन टेक कंपनियों को अपना रास्ता खुद बनाना होगा और अपना बिल भी खुद ही भरना होगा।

अमेरिकी नागरिकों की जेब बचाएगा GRID Act

अमेरिकी नागरिकों की जेब को डेटा सेंटर्स के बिजली बिल के भार से बचाने के लिए अमेरिकी सीनेटर्स ने ऐतिहासिक विधेयक पेश किया है। इसे ‘गारंटींग रेट इंसुलेशन’ या ‘GRID’ एक्ट कहा जा रहा है। इसका मकसद दो चीजों की गारंटी देना है। पहला, ये कि डेटा सेंटर्स की वजह से उपभोक्ताओं के बिल में कोई बढ़ोत्तरी नहीं होगी। इसके अलावा बिजली ग्रिड्स पर पहला हक आम लोगों का होगा न कि टेक दिग्गजों का। इस बिल की वजह से डेटा सेटंर्स को ऑफ ग्रिड साधनों से बिजली जुटानी पड़ेगी जैसे कि सौर्य या पवर उर्जा से।

न्यूयॉर्क और पेंसिल्वेनिया की पहल

डेटा सेंटर्स अमेरिका के राज्यों में भी विरोध देखने को मिल रहा है। हाल ही में न्यूयॉर्क वो छठा राज्य बन गया है, जहां के विधायकों ने डेटा सेंटर बनाने पर रोक लगाने का प्रस्ताव दिया है।

इसके अलावा पेंसिल्वेनिया के गवर्नर जोश शापिरो ने डेटा सेंटर डेवलपर्स के लिए सख्त दिशानिर्देश जारी किए हैं। इन नियमों में डेटा सेंटर्स को अपने बिजली खर्च का बिल खुद उठाने और स्थानीय लोगों को नौकरी देने के साथ-साथ पानी के संरक्षण के लिए जरूरी स्टैंडर्ड का पालन करने को कहा गया है।

पर्यावरण की चिंता

गौर करने वाली बात है कि ये फिलहाल वादे हैं और कानूनी रूप से इनका पालन किया जाना जरूरी नहीं है। हालांकि अमेरिकी सरकार का मानना है कि सार्वजनिक रूप से किए गए ये वादे कंपनियों की जिम्मेदारी तय करेंगे।बता दें कि अमेरिका में लोगों को डर है कि AI का अंधाधुंध इस्तेमल और विकास न सिर्फ बिजली के बिल बढ़ाएगा बल्कि पर्यावरण को भी खतरे में डालेगा।
