उत्तराखंड सरकार पैरा खिलाड़ियों को नई पहचान दिलाने के लिए महत्वपूर्ण पहल कर रही है। मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने पद्मश्री दीपा मलिक के प्रस्ताव पर राज्य में पैरा स्पोर्ट्स यूनिवर्सिटी स्थापित करने के लिए विस्तृत कार्ययोजना बनाने के निर्देश दिए हैं। इसका उद्देश्य पैरा एथलीटों को बेहतर प्रशिक्षण, आधुनिक सुविधाएं और एक समर्पित मंच प्रदान करना है, जिससे वे राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन कर सकें।

उत्तराखंड में पैरा खिलाड़ियों को राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर नई पहचान दिलाने की दिशा में प्रदेश सरकार की एक महत्वपूर्ण पहल सामने आई है। मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने पैरा एथलीट और पद्मश्री से सम्मानित दीपा मलिक के पैरा स्पोर्ट्स यूनिवर्सिटी की स्थापना के प्रस्ताव पर निदेशक खेल को विस्तृत कार्ययोजना तैयार करने के निर्देश दिए हैं।

मुख्यमंत्री आवास में शुक्रवार को हुई मुलाकात के दौरान मुख्यमंत्री ने दीपा मलिक को सम्मानित करते हुए पैरा स्पोर्ट्स के क्षेत्र में उनके उल्लेखनीय योगदान की सराहना की। उन्होंने कहा कि दीपा मलिक का संघर्ष, समर्पण और उपलब्धियां न केवल पैरा खिलाडिय़ों बल्कि पूरे समाज के लिए प्रेरणास्रोत हैं।

इस दौरान दीपा मलिक ने कहा कि उत्तराखंड जैसे पर्वतीय राज्य में पैरा खिलाडिय़ों की अपार प्रतिभाएं मौजूद हैं, लेकिन उन्हें अभी भी बेहतर प्रशिक्षण, आधुनिक खेल सुविधाओं और समर्पित मंच की आवश्यकता है।

यदि राज्य में एक पैरा स्पोर्ट्स यूनिवर्सिटी की स्थापना की जाती है, तो यहां के खिलाड़ी व्यवस्थित प्रशिक्षण के माध्यम से राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिताओं में बेहतर प्रदर्शन कर सकेंगे।।

इस अवसर पर पैरालंपिक कमेटी आफ इंडिया के महासचिव जयवंत हम्मुनावा, इंडिया पैरा पावर लिफ्टिंग के चेयरपर्सन जेपी सिंह, पैरा लिफ्टिंग के उपाध्यक्ष शुभम चौधरी, कोर यूनिवर्सिटी के चेयरमैन जेसी जैन, पैरालंपिक पावर लिफ्टर परमजीत कुमार, आदि कस्तूरी उपस्थित रहे।
