रविवार को मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने मुख्यमंत्री कैम्प कार्यालय में प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की मन की बात को सुना। मन की बात कार्यक्रम में प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने पहाड़ी अंजीर कहे जाने वाले बेडू (Himalayan fig) का जिक्र किया। प्रधानमंत्री ने पिथौरागढ़ प्रशासन के द्वारा बेडू के उत्पादन को बढ़ावा देकर रोजगार सृजन व खनिज एवं वनस्पतियों के संरक्षण के क्षेत्र में किए जा रहे प्रयासों की सराहना की। मुख्यमंत्री ने इसके लिए प्रधानमंत्री का आभार व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि वास्तव में बेडू स्वास्थ्य के लिए संजीवनी है, जिसके माध्यम से स्थानीय लोगों द्वारा अनेक रोगों का शमन किया जाता है।
मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने जिलाधिकारी पिथौरागढ़ आशीष चौहान से फोन पर बात कर इस सराहनीय पहल के लिए जिला प्रशासन एवं जनपद वासियों को बधाई दी। जिला प्रशासन के सहयोग से पिथौरागढ़ में बेडू से जूस, जैम, चटनी, आचार एवं अन्य सामग्री बनाई जा रही है।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि मन की बात में प्रधानमंत्री ने जल के संरक्षण एवं संवर्धन, कुपोषण मुक्त भारत के लिए कुपोषण मुक्ति के प्रयासों एवं इसके लिए जागरूकता, मोटे अनाजों के उत्पादन के लिए लोगों को प्रोत्साहित करने की बात कही। इस दिशा में राज्य सरकार सुनियोजित तरीके से कार्य करेगी।
