दिल्ली – मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने नई दिल्ली में केंद्रीय मंत्री, रेल, संचार, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स व सूचना तकनीक अश्विनी वैष्णव से शिष्टाचार भेंट की। उत्तराखण्ड में मोबाइल नेटवर्क को मजबूत करने के मुख्यमंत्री के अनुरोध पर केंद्रीय मंत्री ने उत्तराखण्ड में बीएसएनएल के 1206 मोबाइल टावर की स्वीकृति दी। प्रत्येक मोबाईल टावर की लागत 1 करोड़ रुपये आएगी। मुख्यमंत्री ने टनकपुर-देहरादून के मध्य एक जनशताब्दी रेल सेवा शुरू किये जाने का भी अनुरोध किया। रूड़की-देवबन्द रेल परियोजना के सम्बन्ध में राज्य सरकार की ओर से अब तक प्रदत्त अंशदान की धनराशि 296.67 करोड़ को अंतिम करते हुए 50 प्रतिशत अंशदान के सापेक्ष शेष देय धनराशि 99.01 करोड़ का भुगतान करने से राज्य सरकार को मुक्त करने का भी आग्रह किया।

मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि वर्तमान में कुमाऊँ और गढ़वाल को जोड़ने के लिए देहरादून-काठगोदाम के मध्य चलने वाली एक मात्र रेल सेवा है। नेपाल बोर्डर होने के कारण वहाँ के लिए लोगों का आवागमन टनकपुर से ही होता है। इसलिए कुमाऊं-गढवाल कनेक्टीवीटी को और मजबूत करने के लिए टनकपुर-देहरादून मार्ग पर एक जनशताब्दी रेल को संचालित किया जाना जनहित में अत्यंत आवश्यक है।

मुख्यमंत्री ने टनकपुर बागेश्वर रेल लाइन को नेरोगेज के स्थान पर ब्रोडगेज बनाये जाने, हरिद्वार- देहरादून रेल लाइन को डबल लेन बनाने, हर्रावाला रेलवे स्टेशन के आधुनिकीकरण, ऋषिकेश -उत्तरकाशी रेल लाइन तथा किच्छा – खटीमा रेल लाइन के निर्माण हेतु भी अनुरोध किया। जिनके संबंध में रेल मंत्री द्वारा सहमति व्यक्त की गयी। मुख्यमंत्री द्वारा टनकपुर से दिल्ली के मध्य चलने वाली पूर्णागिरी जन शताब्दी की यात्रा अवधि को कम करते हुए 05-06 घंटों में यात्रा पूर्ण कराने हेतु आवश्यक व्यवस्था करने का भी अनुरोध किया।

मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि रूड़की-देवबन्द रेल परियोजना के संदर्भ में राज्य सरकार द्वारा विगत में परियोजना लागत का 50 प्रतिशत वहन करने हेतु प्रदत्त सहमति के क्रम में कुल परियोजना लागत रूपये 791.39 करोड़ के सापेक्ष उत्तराखण्ड राज्य द्वारा अब तक रूपये 296.67 करोड़ का अंशदान रेलवे को दिया जा चुका है। मुख्यमंत्री ने केंद्रीय रेल मंत्री से उत्तराखण्ड जैसे छोटे एवं पर्वतीय राज्य के सीमित वित्तीय संसाधनों को देखते हुए राज्य सरकार की ओर से अब तक प्रदत्त अंशदान की धनराशि को अंतिम करते हुए 50 प्रतिशत अंशदान के सापेक्ष शेष देय धनराशि 99.01 करोड़ का भुगतान करने से राज्य सरकार को मुक्त करने का अनुरोध किया।
