केन्द्रीय मंत्री पर्यटन, संस्कृति, पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र विकास जी. किशन रेड्डी ने उत्तरकाशी जिले केे सीमांत गावों का भ्रमण कर भारत सरकार की ‘वाईब्रेंट विलेज‘ योजना के तहत सीमांत क्षेत्रों के तेजी से विकास एवं स्थानीय निवासियों की बेहतरी के लिए केन्द्र और राज्य सरकार के सभी विभागोें को समन्वित प्रयास करने पर बल दिया।  रेड्डी ने कहा कि सीमांत के लोग देश की सीमाओं के स्वाभाविक प्रहरी हैं, लिहाजा उन्हें सशक्त बनाकर देश को अधिक मजबूत और सुरक्षित बनाया जा सकता है।
रेड्डी ने अपने दो दिवसीय दौरे पर आज सुबह हर्षिल पहुंचकर भारत तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस बल के अधिकारियों एवं जवानों से भेंट कर उनका हालचाल जाना। सीमा की सुरक्षा में बल के योगदान को उल्लेखनीय बताते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि हमारे जांबाज हिमवीरों पर देशवासियों को गर्व हैे। उन्होेनें इस मौके पर उपस्थित बल की महिला कर्मियों के जज्बे की भी सराहना करते हुए कहा कि अब महिलाएं भी समाज की हर क्षेत्र में आगे बढकर काम कर रही हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि सीमांत क्षेत्रों में संचार एवं सड़कों की सुविधाओं के विस्तार पर भी सरकार विशेष ध्यान दे रही है, इससे सीमाओं पर तैनात जवानों को भी सहूलियत मिल सकेगी। श्री रेड्डी ने हर्षिल स्थित सैन्य शिविर में थलसेना के जवानों से भी मुलाकात कर राष्ट्र की रक्षा में रत सैनिकों की हौसला आफजाई की।
अपने भ्रमण के दौरान केन्द्रीय पर्यटन एवं संस्कृति मंत्री मुखवा गाॅव में आयोजित जनसभा में सीमांत गांवों के निवासियों से रूबरू हुए।  रेड्डी ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के नेतृत्व में देश हर क्षेत्र में तेजी से आगे बढ़ रहा है। इसके साथ ही प्रधानमंत्री ने देश में 600 से भी अधिक सीमांत गांवों के त्वरित विकास और स्थानीय निवासियों के कल्याण पर विशेष ध्यान केन्द्रित किया है। इसी उद्देश्य से वाईब्रेंट विलेज योजना प्रारंभ कर प्रधानमंत्री ने पहले चरण में अनके कैबिनेट मंत्रियों को सीमांत गांवों में जाकर वहां की समस्याओं व जरूरतों का जायजा लेने के निर्देश दिए हैं। इस योजना के तहत सीमांत क्षेत्र में बुनियादी सुुविधाओं की प्रभावी व्यवस्था और समग्र व सतत विकास की योजनाओं का तत्परता से क्रियान्वयन करने के साथ ही स्वरोजगार के नये अवसरों का सृजन करने पर विशेष ध्यान दिया जा रहा है। ताकि सीमावर्ती गांवो से पलायन न हो यह गाॅव संपन्न व सशक्त हो सकें।
रेड्डी ने कहा कि गंगा का मायका यह सीमान्त इलाका धार्मिक और आध्यात्मिक तौर पर वैभवशाली होने के साथ ही अद्वितीय प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य और विलक्षण सांस्कृतिक विरासत से समृद्ध है। मुखवा गाॅंव को आध्यात्मिक व पर्यटन ग्राम घोषित करने पर विचार करने का भरोसा दिलाते हुए उन्होने कहा कि हमें स्वरोजगार व आर्थिक उन्नयन के लिए होम स्टे व स्थानीय उत्पादों के विपणन जैसे संभावनाशील क्षेत्रों पर ध्यान देना होगा।  रेड्डी ने कहा कि होम स्टे के लिए ऋण स्वीकृति में आने वाली अड़चनों को दूर करने का प्रयास किया जाएगा। उन्होनें महिला स्वयं सहायता समूहों को भी बढावा देने तथा समूहों के वित्त पोषण एवं उत्पादों के विपणन की सुविधा उपलब्ध कराने हेतु अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए। श्री रेड्डी ने ‘बुडेरा‘ ब्रांड के उत्पादों की प्रदर्शनी व्यापार मेला नई दिल्ली में लगाने का भी निर्देश दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि जांगला मोटर मार्ग के निर्माण में आने वाली अड़चनों को दूर करने का प्रभावी प्रयास किया जाएगा।
केन्द्रीय मंत्री  रेड्डी ने सीमांत क्षेत्र में शिक्षा व्यवस्था की जायजा लेने के लिए राजकीय उच्च प्राथमिक विद्यालय मुखवा पँहुचकर विद्यालय की छात्राओं से बातचीत की।  रेड्डी ने छात्रों से बेहतर नागरिक बनने का आह्वान करते हुए प्रधानमंत्री के द्वारा बच्चों के कल्याण, शिक्षा तथा स्वास्थ्य के अधिकारसे संबंधित जानकारी भी बच्चों के साथ साझा की।
इस मौके पर उन्होंने प्रधानमंत्री पोषण मध्याह्न भोजन एवं अन्य केन्द्र पोेषित योजनाओं की समीक्षा की तथा आंगनवाडी केन्द्र मुखवा और प्राथमिक स्वास्थ्य केन्द्र हर्षिल का निरीक्षण भी किया।केन्द्रीय पर्यटन मंत्री ने हर्षिल मे वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेसिंग के जरिए पर्यटन मंत्रालय भारत सरकार, राज्य के उच्चाधिकारियों एवं उद्योेग संगठन और पर्यटन क्षेत्र के विशेषज्ञोें के साथ ग्रामीण एवं सीमांत क्षेत्रों के पर्यटन विकास के बारे में विचार-विमर्श भी किया। कान्फ्रेंसिंग में भारत सरकार के पर्यटन विभाग के अपर सचिव राकेश कुमार वर्मा, पर्यटन सचिव उत्तराखंड सचिन कुर्वे, जिलाधिकारी अभिषेक रूहेला आदि ने भाग लिया।
