सीएम धामी ने लोक निर्माण विभाग को निर्देश दिए हैं कि कुमाऊं के सभी जिलों की शहरी सड़कों को तत्काल गड्ढामुक्त किया जाए।

कुमाऊं में शहरी सड़कों की मरम्मत का काम जल्द पूरा होगा। अमर उजाला में सड़क की दुर्दशा पर प्रकाशित खबरों के बाद मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने संज्ञान लिया है। उन्होंने लोक निर्माण विभाग को निर्देश दिए हैं कि सभी जिलों की शहरी सड़कों को तत्काल गड्ढामुक्त किया जाए। इसके बाद लोनिवि के प्रमुख अभियंता की ओर से विभागीय सचिव को पत्र जारी कर सड़कों की स्थिति से अवगत कराया गया है।

मुख्यमंत्री के इस सख्त रुख के बाद अब विभागीय अधिकारी हरकत में आ गए हैं। रविवार को लोनिवि के प्रमुख अभियंता ने विभागीय सचिव को पत्र भेजकर क्षेत्रवार रिपोर्ट सौंपी और बताया कि सड़कों पर पेचवर्क का कार्य तेजी से कराया जा रहा है।
कुमाऊं के यूएस नगर, नैनीताल, अल्मोड़ा, बागेश्वर, पिथौरागढ़ जिले में सड़कों की दुर्दशा पर अमर उजाला ने 26 अक्तूबर के अंक में विस्तृत रिपोर्ट प्रकाशित की थी। इसमें लोनिवि सचिव के दावे के बावजूद कई प्रमुख शहरी सड़कों पर अब तक पैचवर्क पूरा न होने का खुलासा किया गया था।

खबर छपने के 24 घंटे के भीतर ही मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने इसे गंभीरता से लेते हुए लोक निर्माण विभाग को कड़ा निर्देश जारी किया कि किसी भी जिले में सड़कों पर गड्ढे नहीं रहने चाहिए। सीएम ने कहा कि जनता को सड़क सुविधा देना सरकार की पहली प्राथमिकता है इसलिए मरम्मत और पैचवर्क कार्य समयसीमा के अंदर पूरे किए जाएं। मुख्यमंत्री के निर्देश के बाद लोनिवि के प्रमुख अभियंता ने विभागीय सचिव को एक विस्तृत रिपोर्ट भेजी है जिसमें सड़कों की वर्तमान स्थिति और मरम्मत कार्यों की प्रगति बताई गई है।
