मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने कहा कि उत्तराखंड के 25 वर्ष पूरे होने पर यह हमारी प्रतिबद्धता है कि राज्य को स्वच्छ, हरित और प्रदूषण मुक्त बनाएं। ग्रीन सेस से प्राप्त राजस्व का उपयोग वायु गुणवत्ता सुधार, हरित अवसंरचना और स्मार्ट यातायात प्रबंधन में किया जाएगा। यह सेस फास्ट टैग के माध्यम से लिया जाएगा।
राज्य प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड के सदस्य सचिव डा पराग मधुकर धकाते ने बताया कि बोर्ड के अध्ययन के अनुसार देहरादून में वायु प्रदूषण का सबसे बड़ा स्रोत सड़क की धूल (55 प्रतिशत) है, जबकि वाहन उत्सर्जन (सात प्रतिशत) भी एक प्रमुख कारण है। ग्रीन सेस के माध्यम से सड़क धूल नियंत्रण और स्वच्छ वाहन नीति अपनाना शहर की वायु गुणवत्ता सुधारने का सबसे प्रभावी कदम होगा।
