मुख्यमंत्री श्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने उत्तराखण्ड सरकार की मातृ-पितृ तीर्थाटन योजना के अंतर्गत हल्द्वानी सर्किट हाउस से 32 श्रद्धालुओं के पहले दल को गंगोत्री धाम के लिए हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया। यह तीर्थ यात्रा पाँच दिवसीय होगी, जिसमें श्रद्धालु गंगोत्री धाम सहित विभिन्न धार्मिक स्थलों के दर्शन करेंगे।
मुख्यमंत्री ने तीर्थयात्रियों को सुरक्षित, सुखद एवं मंगलमय यात्रा की शुभकामनाएं दीं और कहा कि यह योजना वरिष्ठ नागरिकों को आध्यात्मिक सुख और शांति प्रदान करने के उद्देश्य से शुरू की गई है। उन्होंने कहा कि कई बुजुर्ग आर्थिक या अन्य कारणों से जीवन में तीर्थ यात्रा नहीं कर पाते, ऐसे में सरकार का यह प्रयास उन्हें सम्मान और श्रद्धा के साथ धार्मिक स्थलों तक पहुंचाने का है।
तीर्थयात्रा पर रवाना हुए दल में 19 महिलाएं और 13 पुरुष श्रद्धालु शामिल हैं। इनके आवास और भोजन की व्यवस्था गढ़वाल मंडल विकास निगम (GMVN) के पर्यटक आवास केंद्रों में की गई है, ताकि उन्हें यात्रा के दौरान किसी प्रकार की असुविधा न हो।
इस अवसर पर विधायक श्री बंशीधर भगत (कालाढूंगी), विधायक श्री राम सिंह कैड़ा (भीमताल), भाजपा जिलाध्यक्ष श्री प्रताप बिष्ट, राज्य सरकार के विभिन्न दायित्वधारी, कुमाऊं कमिश्नर श्री दीपक रावत, आईजी श्रीमती रिद्धिम अग्रवाल, अन्य जनप्रतिनिधि एवं अधिकारीगण उपस्थित रहे।
