उत्तराखंड में पंचायत चुनाव जीतकर भी 63 प्रतिशत प्रधान बिना बस्ते के खाली बैठे हैं। ऐसे में अब उपचुनाव की मांग उठ रही है।

पंचायत चुनाव जीतकर भी 63 प्रतिशत ग्राम प्रधान बिना बस्ते के घूम रहे हैं। सदस्यों को कोरम पूरा न होने के कारण वे काम नहीं कर पा रहे। अब मांग उठ रही है कि जल्द से जल्द खाली पदों पर चुनाव कराया जाए, जिससे गांवों के विकास का काम शुरू हो सके।

उत्तराखंड पहाड़ी महासभा की महासचिव गीता विष्ट ने राज्य निर्वाचन आयोग को ई-मेल के माध्यम से ज्ञापन भेजा। इसमें उन्होंने कहा है कि 63 प्रतिशत ग्राम प्रधान बिना बस्ते के घूम रहे हैं। दो तिहाई सदस्यों का कोरम पूरा न होने के कारण वे अपनी कैबिनेट का गठन नहीं कर पा रहे हैं।
जिसके चलते उनके हाथ में कोई पावर नहीं है और गांवों में विकास कार्य बाधित हो रहे हैं। 12 जिलों में 4792 ग्राम पंचायतों में दो तिहाई कोरम पूरा न होने के कारण ग्राम पंचायत का गठन नहीं हो पाया है। जबकि पंचायती राज अधिनियम के तहत कोरम पूरा होना जरूरी है। लिहाजा, विकास कार्यों को पटरी पर लाने के लिए जरूरी है कि रिक्त पदों पर मतदान कराया जाए। ताकि समय से नए सदस्य आएं और प्रधान अपना कामकाज संभाल सकें।
दोबारा चुनाव की तैयारियों में जुटा आयोग: राज्य
निर्वाचन आयोग रिक्त पदों पर चुनाव की तैयारियों में जुटा है। माना जा रहा है कि दिवाली से पहले ही खाली पदों के लिए चुनाव हो सकता है। अभी आयोग और शासन के बीच इसे लेकर अंतिम निर्णय नहीं हो पाया है।
