भट्ट ने हल्द्वानी मिनी स्टेडियम में तीन दिवसीय उत्तराखंड ओपन बैडमिंटन टूर्नामेंट का शुभारंभ किया। विभिन्न राज्यों से सैकड़ों प्रतिभागी अलग-अलग आयु वर्ग के इस टूर्नामेंट में प्रतिभाग करने के लिए पहुंचे हैं।  भट्ट ने दीप प्रज्वलित कर बैडमिंटन टूर्नामेंट 2023 के प्रतियोगिता की शुरुआत की। इस दौरान  भट्ट ने कहा कि खेल एकमात्र ऐसा माध्यम है जो बच्चों को नशे से दूर रख सकता है और खेल एकाग्रता की ओर ले जाता है जिससे खेल से जुड़े रहने वाले बच्चों में हमेशा आगे बढ़ने की ललक जगी रहती है। उन्होंने इस कार्यक्रम के आयोजक पूर्व राज्य स्तरीय बैडमिंटन खिलाड़ी तन्मय रावत को बधाई और शुभकामनाएं दी। जिसके पश्चात  भट्ट ने हल्द्वानी स्टेडियम में ही स्पोर्ट्स की बेहतर व्यवस्था खिलाड़ियों को उपलब्ध हो इस दृष्टिगत 477 लाख के चल रहे निर्माण कार्यो का स्थलीय निरीक्षण किया। साथ ही अधिकारियों को दिशा निर्देश दिए कि निर्माण कार्यों में किसी भी प्रकार की गुणवत्ता की हीला हवाली नहीं बर्दाश्त की जाएगी।  भट्ट ने कहा कि वह आगे फिर इस निर्माण कार्य का निरीक्षण करेंगे। उन्होंने खेल विभाग के अधिकारियों और निर्माण का इस संस्था को स्पष्ट निर्देश दिया कि यदि गुणवत्ता में ऊंच-नीच हुई तो उसके लिए वह जिम्मेदार होंगे।  भट्ट ने तय समय पर स्टेडियम के निर्माण कार्य को पूरा करने के भी निर्देश दिए। इस दौरान सहायक खेल निदेशक सुरेश पांडे, जिला क्रीड़ा अधिकारी राशिका सिद्दीकी, भाजपा जिला अध्यक्ष प्रताप बिष्ट, मेयर जोगेन्द्र रौतेला,तन्मय रावत, प्रताप रैकवाल सहित दर्जनों लोग उपस्थित रहे।
