प्रदेश के कृषि एवं कृषक कल्याण मंत्री गणेश जोशी ने मंगलवार को औषधीय एवं संगध पादप संस्थान, मैहलचौरी (शाखा उत्तराखण्ड औद्यानिकी एवं वानिकी विश्वविद्यालय,भरसार) का स्थलीय निरिक्षण किया गया। निरिक्षण कार्यक्रम के दौरान कृषि मंत्री गणेश जोशी ने अधिकारियों से विस्तृत में जानकारी प्राप्त की। मौके पर उपस्थित अधिकारियों द्वारा कृषि मंत्री गणेश जोशी को अवगत कराया कि संस्थान के पास शासन द्वारा स्वीकृत 9.4 हैक्टियर भूमि पर 100 से अधिक प्रजाति के औषधीय एवं औधानिकी फसलों कर कार्य किया जा रहा है। तथा वर्तमान में औषधीय एवं संगत पादप संस्थान में 400 पौधे सेब, कीवि, आडू, प्लम,चेरी, नाशपाती के फलदार वृक्ष लगाये गये है।
कृषि मंत्री गणेश जोशी ने कहा कि औषधीय एंव संगध पादप संस्थान, मैहलचौरी जो वानिकी व औद्योगिकी विश्वविद्यालय का एक कैम्पस है। शीघ्र ही यहां पर कार्यालय भवन,कक्ष – कक्षों और सभागार का निर्माण किया जाएगा जो 06 करोड़ की लागत से बनेगा। मंत्री गणेश जोशी ने कहा यह संस्थान 10 हैक्टेयर की भूमि में बनेगा जिसके लिए रु.06 करोड़ की स्वीकृति प्रदान कर दी गई है। मंत्री गणेश जोशी ने कहा शीघ्र ही याद धनराशि कार्यदाई संस्था को आवंटित की जाएगी। कृषि मंत्री जोशी ने स्थानीय लोगों का भी आभार व्यक्त किया जिन्होंने 500 नाली भूमि संस्थान को दी है।
मंत्री गणेश जोशी ने भरोसा जताते हुए कहा कि अप्रैल माह तक निर्माण कार्य शुरू किया जाएगा और संस्थान में बीएससी एग्रीकल्चर और एमएससी एग्रीकल्चर का पठन पाठन किया जाएगा। साथ ही प्रशिक्षण भी दिया जाएगा जिसमें स्थानीय लोगों को भी शामिल किया जाएगा। मंत्री जोशी ने कहा अभी तक जो पौध हिमांचल से आ रही है। लेकिन अब सभी पौध यहां पर तैयार की जा रही है। जिसमे मुख्य रूप से कीवी, सेब की रूट स्टॉक, सीडलिंग जैसे कई प्रजातियां शामिल है। मंत्री गणेश जोशी ने कहा कि निश्चित ही इस संस्थान के बनने के बाद जहां स्थानीय लोगो के लिए रोजगार के अवसर प्राप्त होंगे वहीं दूसरी तरफ गैरसैंण के विकास में यह मील का पत्थर साबित होगा।
इस अवसर पर कर्णप्रयाग विधायक अनिल नौटियाल, संस्थान प्रभारी डॉ मधुलिका पांडेय, जिला पंचायत सदस्य बलबीर रावत, महावीर सिंह नेगी, जगमोहन कठैत, सांसद प्रतिनिधि पूर्व प्रमुख सुगति बिष्ट, जिला पंचायत सदस्य विनोद नेगी सहित कई लोग उपस्थित रहे।
