कूड़े को लेकर इन दिनों नगर में स्थानीय जनता के मध्य नाराजगी देखी जारही है यहां तक की उत्तरकाशी में आमरण अनशन चल रहा है। वहीं कूड़े का जिम्मा लेने वाले नगर पालिका अध्यक्ष कूड़े की समस्या को लेकर शहरी विकास मंत्री प्रेमचंद अग्रवाल से मुलाकात कर नगर में चल रही कूड़े की समस्या से अवगत कराया।
पालिका अध्यक्ष रमेश सेमवाल ने जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि उन्होंने काबीना मंत्री प्रेमचंद अग्रवाल से कहा कि उनके चुनाव से पूर्व से ही, जिला प्रशासन द्वारा कूड़े को नगर के मध्य रामलीला मैदान में उड़ेल दिया गया था। चुनाव के दौरान इस कूड़े को ताम्बखानी सुरंग के मुहाने पर रख दिया गया। इस कूड़े से पिछले 4 वर्षों से सबसे ज्यादा प्रभावित अम्बेडकर बस्ती, जोशियाड़ा, व ज्ञानसू गैस गोदाम के लोग सबसे ज्यादा प्रभावित है। इस कूड़े से नगर में महामारी फैलने के साथ-साथ एक अव्यवस्था की स्थिति देखने को मिल रही है। उत्तरकाशी नगर अति महत्वपूर्ण स्थान है जहां देश और विदेश से आने वाले श्रद्धालु अपनी यात्रा को सफल बनाने के उद्देश्य से मां गंगा के दर्शन हेतु उत्तरकाशी आते हैं। वही कूड़े के अंबार को देख लोगों में एक अव्यवस्था का संदेश यात्रियों व स्थानीयजनों के बीच देखने को मिल रहा है। इस कूड़े का समय रहते निस्तारण होना अतिआवश्यक है, वही इस मुलाकात को लेकर शहरी विकास मंत्री ने पालिका अध्यक्ष को आश्वासित कर कहा कि वह अति शीघ्र इस ओर कार्य कर मुख्यमंत्री से इस समस्या पर बैठक करेंगे जिससे कूड़े की समस्या से उत्तरकाशी को निजात दिलाई जा सके।
